Tina Leser Original
Tina Leser was born in Philadelphia in
1910 and traveled the world with her
parents. She opened her first boutique
in Honolulu as a newlywed in 1935.
Her clothing designs and fabric choices
were definitely influenced by her exotic
life. In the 1950's she designed
clothing using Indian Sari fabric for
the garments. This peachy/pink silk
dress is from that collection. The
fabric is woven with gold metallic
thread in classic Indian designs. The
sleeves, waistline and two loose skirt
panels are edged with metallic woven
ribbon. The dress has a round neckline,
exaggerated cap sleeves and a fitted
bodice. The overskirt consists of two
panels of fabric attached at the
waistline. A slim skirt of pink silk is
underneath. The dress has a center back
zipper and snap closure. It is fully
lined and in excellent condition.
