Created by the design house of Proyetti in Milan this dress was custom ordered at Bergdorf Goodman in 1962. Two shades of luxuriously soft grey wool flannel are used and the dress is fully lined in grey silk. The bodice has a round neckline, cap sleeves and intricately curved seams at the bust and waistline. There is a metal zipper at the center back. The intricate construction continues on the inside as well. The dress appears to be one piece, when in fact it is almost two pieces. The skirt is attached to the bodice at the left side, just at the drape. It has a fitted waistline and a center back zipper as well. There is a great deal of hand finishing in this dress and it is in excellent condition.
