Norman Norell for Traina-Norell Chartreuse Sequin Mermaid Dress

Norman Norell is most famous for his Mermaid dresses, many of which are in museum collections. This is a very early example from the 1950's before he started designing under the Norman Norell label.

Chartreuse silk jersey is covered with matching chartreuse sequins, all hand sewn, for this early Mermaid dress from Norman Norell designing at Traina-Norell. The sleeveless dress has a scoop neckline in front and a low cut back. The bodice has a slight blouson look above a straight skirt. It has a center back zipper and it was retailed by Nan Duskin in Philadelphia. It is in excellent condition.
