Rare Tina Leser Hand Painted Jacket

Soft oatmeal colored wool is hand painted and signed, and it makes a striking and rare jacket from the late 1940's. The front and back of the jacket are hand painted with an Asian scene in pastel colors and embellished with colored sequins.

Each side of the front is decorated with a rider on horseback above a figure tending animals in a pastoral setting. The larger motif on the back has doves above a pair of riders on horseback. There is a turbaned man tending to many animals and birds. The jacket is signed below the right front motif. It is fitted with a rolled collar and four rhinestone encrusted pink and white painted buttons. It is beautifully lined in a matching tan crepe and it is in excellent condition. I have seen a few Tina Leser painted blouses but this is the first painted jacket that I have ever seen done by Tina Leser, it truly is a rare piece.
